Carthage Main Street Manager Cindy Deloney delivers the following speech to award this year’s Carthage Main Street Shining Star Award:

“When new volunteers start with Main Street, I speak of this year’s Shining Star recipient so often that I fear they suspect me of having an imaginary friend. She is someone incredibly special—not just to me, but to Carthage Main Street. She is one of the most dedicated, hardworking, and supportive people I know. Even though she can never make it to our meetings—because she’s busy shaping young minds as a teacher at Panola College—she is always working behind the scenes, making a huge impact.

She’s the one I turn to when I need advice, when I’m stuck on an idea, or when I’m trying to figure out how to make our events even better. She challenges me to grow, to think bigger, and to make a difference in our community. And she does all of this without ever seeking recognition—because that’s just who she is. And when our events happen, there she is, working hard along side the Main Street Board and Youth Advisory Council Members.

For outstanding & dedicated contributions furthering the goals of the Carthage Main Street Organization, it is my pleasure to award the Carthage Main Street Shining Star award to Roberta Collinsworth.”

Carthage Main Street Manager Cindy Deloney delivers the following speech to award this year’s Carthage Main Street Shining Star Award:

“In her time as a member of YAC she has been a driving force for all of our events   She has hosted and Co-chaired the Sixth Annual Mainstreet Short Film Festival and was instrumental in its success, graciously hosting not only local filmmakers but filmmakers from all over Texas and Louisiana.  She has spear-headed fundraisers and projects that are still in the works.  She’s no stranger to working hard and being involved in her community.

I have always been impressed by her ability, attitude, maturity and intelligence.

She has brought constant ideas and enthusiasm, and has lead the Carthage Main Street Youth Advisory Council through a very successful year.

For outstanding & dedicated contributions furthering the goals of the Carthage Main Street Organization, it is my pleasure to award the Carthage Main Street Rising Star award to Carthage Main Street Youth Advisory Council Chairman, Gracie Mae Broomfield.”
